![]() Last orders for RiscPC/A5000 etc. NiCAD batteries19th May 2005The NiCAD (CMOS backup) battery used in the RiscPC / A5000 etc is no longer made, CJE Micro's have just received what we expect to be our last ever delivery! Is your computer's battery as good as it should be? In order to retain your configuration and time, every RISC OS computer has a small battery on the circuit board. Sadly, these batteries don't last forever. The first symptom of a battery problem people often see is that their clock is wrong. Unfortunately by this time the cell will often have already corroded to the point of damaging the tracks/components around it. If your battery has started to grow a fur coat (usually white, green or brown deposits on the surface), then it needs to be replaced straight away. CJE Micro's have new, specially manufactured batteries available to replace your old battery. We have both types of battery - vertically mounted as in RiscPC, A7000, A5000 or horizontally mounted as in A3000 & I'm told A540, available for 12 GBP each.
