High Speed Internet

   CJE Micro’s can now offer its customers all the benefits of a high speed ADSL internet connection for as little as £22.50 per month + initial setup costs.

   ADSL is the future of home and business internet connection with many benefits over a standard dial-up connection including:

• Download speed up to 512Kb/Sec
  i.e.3.5+MB/minute
• Always online!
• No call charges!
• Still able to make voice calls whilst using the internet*
• Uses BT phone line
• NO PC Required!

   In addition to this, CJE will supply everything you need to connect to the Internet by ADSL, with full instructions and up to an hour of technical support.

   ADSL is not yet available in all areas, however it is possible to check if your area can connect to ADSL by using the BT ADSL checker.

ISP Costs

ISP costs vary but start from:
£22.50 per month with initial ISP cost of £65
or
£30 per month with £0 initial ISP cost

The ADSL setup provided by CJE is compatible with either a stand alone RISC OS computer or a network. The network can consist of solely RISC OS computers or may include PCs. CJE can also provide a router with a firewall option, for added network security.

There are many ISPs providing an ADSL option. CJE have compiled a list of several ISPs and the ADSL service they provide, take a look the ADSL ISP Information page to see what’s on offer. We recommend you find a service that suits your needs and budget and contact the ISP directly to establish your account and arrange setup of your ADSL line.

What else do I need?

   You will also need a contract with an ADSL aware Internet Service Provider (ISP). Most ISPs charge a signing up fee, some include a USB ADSL modem in the initial price, you will also be charged a monthly fee. Currently you will be unable to use the USB ADSL modem with your RISC OS computer. For a list of some suitable ISPs and example pricing click here.

   All the above CJE ADSL packs come with the necessary support pack of: RISC OS software to set up the router, instructions and up to one hour of technical support.

*   If you wish to connect a phone/fax/modem on the telephone/ADSL line then you will need a microfilter. Microfilters, if required can be purchased for £11 each inc VAT and UK postage.
